31 Words of Encouragement - Day 6 - BELONG

Today is Day 6 of the "write31days" challenge.  Once again I am linking up with Kate Motaung for the FMF free writes.  Be sure to check out each day's post here.

Our lives take us in many directions.  Along the way, we connect with others, depending on our needs at that time.

We belong.  We connect with them in many ways:

We are couples; or friends with similar hobbies or likes.  We may be parents, or a single parent.  We could be students, in the same academic classes.

Whatever connects us, we feel as if this is a place where we belong.

These groups change over the years as our lives change.  We may no longer belong to the same group anymore.

Perhaps, we are no longer married; no longer relate to the other couples.  Our friends may have moved on; we no longer see them or share the same interests.

Students graduate; their life changes as they enter the work force, even moving away to pursue those dreams.

Even without any of those people, we will always have our families; we will always belong in that group of loved ones.

Yet, we connect in different ways to our families.  We may not have the same hobbies or likes and dislikes; but there is still that connection.

Now, I realize there are some that feel they don't really belong...anywhere, even in that group of people we call family.

"She said, 'Oh, sir, such grace, such kindness; I don't deserve it.  You've touched my heart, treated me like one of your own.  And I don't even belong here!' "  (Ruth 2:13)

Many times, no matter how hard we try, like Ruth we just don't feel as if we belong.

But, there is One to whom we will belong...always and forever!

As a Child of God, you will always belong to Him.
