31 Words of Encouragement - Day 8 - COMFORT

Today is Day 8 of the "write31days" challenge.  Once again I am linking up with Kate Motaung for the FMF free writes.  Be sure to check out each day's post here.

When I am sad, or going through some kind of "life crisis", it always helps to have someone put their arms around me; to give me a great big hug.

Someone to comfort me in my time of need!

During one such time, I came across this scripture in The Message:

"All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus, the Messiah!  Father of all mercy!  God of all healing counsel!  He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us.  We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than good times of his healing comfort - we get a full measure of that too."  (2 Corinthians 1:3-5)

These words clearly show that we are comforted so that we may be available to comfort others in need!

Our journey takes us through many twists and turns; detours and dead ends.  But the journey teaches us many things.  And those experiences help us to encourage others on their own journeys.

We are not alone on our journey.  We share our journey with others we meet along the way, just as they share their journeys with us.

May we continue to allow "the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah" to guide us on our path "so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us."
