31 Words of Encouragement - Day 4 - WHY

Today is Day 4 of the "write31days" challenge.  Once again I am linking up with Kate Motaung for the FMF free writes.  Be sure to check out each day's post here.

Many days as we continue along the rough roads our journey takes us, we may wonder, "Why?"

Why is this happening...to me?  To us?

In the midst of our troubles, we can't see the sunshine, or the rainbow, at the end of our storm.

Yet, deep inside, we know there will be an end to our storm.  We know that we will be comforted and strengthened so we can continue on our journey to the other side!

Some time ago, when I was going through a rough patch, I came across the following passage from Romans 8:26-28 in The Message version of the Bible:

"Meanwhile, the moment we get tired in the waiting, God's spirit is right alongside helping us along.  If we don't know how or what to pray, it doesn't matter.  He does our praying in and for us, making prayer out of our wordless sighs, our aching groans.  He knows us far better than we know ourselves, knows our condition, and keeps us present before God.  That's why we can be so sure that every detail in our lives of love for God is worked into something good."

Why?  We are always looking for a reason...why did this happen?  Or, how am I going to get through this?

God knows the whys and the how; He knows our needs before we can even express them.  In fact, His Spirit interprets our sighs and our groans and presents them to God.

Every prayer God receives will be answered.  It may not be answered in the way or when we expected it to be.  But, God knows what is best for us.

But, remember, it's all in His timing!  We still need to be patient.  (Is that a word too?  I don't think so, but it could fit right into this series!).

We need not worry why or how; just remember WHO has our lives in His hands!
